BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Police in Bloomfield worked with their peers from neighboring agencies to help apprehend three carjacking suspects who fled a crash on Sunday, authorities said.
According to the Bloomfield Police Department, the crash took place on Ashland Avenue. Police from Newark were pursuing a vehicle that was carjacked in East Orange when the driver hit a utility pole. The vehicle’s occupants then fled the scene.
Bloomfield police gave chase, eventually apprehending three suspects. The suspects were turned over to the Newark Police Department after the chase.

“Our officers worked closely with neighboring jurisdictions to successfully apprehend suspects that fled a carjacked vehicle,” Bloomfield Police Chief George Ricci said.
“This effort serves as a reminder of the dedication of our officers, who work tirelessly every day to protect and serve our community,” Ricci added.
