The president of the Swiss Criminal Court has announced that Nasser al-Khelaïfi, president of beIN Media Group and of PSG, will be questioned on Wednesday, on the third day of the trial of the Qatari and Jérôme Valcke, the former FIFA number two.
The eagerly awaited hearing of Nasser al-Khelaïfi, boss of beIN Media Group and PSG, will take place on Wednesday, “most likely in the afternoon,” on the third day of the trial of the Qatari and the former secretary FIFA general Jérôme Valcke.
The president of the Swiss Court of Criminal Affairs announced the questioning of NAK would occur, just before closing of Tuesday’s hearing, which saw Valcke make his defence case himself.
Valcke and Al-Khelaïfi are respectively accused of “unlawful business practices,” in a case related to the granting of media rights for the 2026 and 2030 World Cups, for the Middle East and North Africa. The Swiss court accuses the Frenchman and ex-right hand of Sepp Blatter of having favoured BeIN in the bidding for these rights in exchange for the “exclusive use” of a luxury villa in Sardinia, which Al-Khelaifi is alleged to have bought for €5m in 2013.
