WADSWORTH, IL — Authorities are continuing to work to identify the shooter accused in the slaying of a 19-year-old Waukegan man at a party in Wadsworth over the holiday weekend.
As of Wednesday morning, no one was in custody in connection with the fatal shooting, which happened during the early morning hours Saturday in the 40600 block of North Kilbourne Road in Wadsworth, according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
Sotero Sanchez, Jr., 19, of Waukegan, was attending the large party when he got into an argument with another person, according to authorities. An autopsy shows Sanchez died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds.

Investigators are continuing to work to identify who shot Sanchez, Covelli said Wednesday.
According to police, dozens of people left the party after the shooting, and no one is currently in custody in connection with the incident.

The Lake County Major Crime Task Force is assisting with the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division at 847-377-4000 or contact Lake County Crime Stoppers.
A visitation for Sanchez is set for 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday at The Memorial Chapel of Waukegan, 1521 Washington St. in Waukegan.
