Gianluca Di Marzio is reporting that Napoli have submitted an offer of €15m to SCO Angers for midfielder Azzedine Ounahi (22).
Ounahi was one of the standout stars of the FIFA World Cup, which concluded last month. The Angers midfielder was a key component in the Moroccan side that reached the semi-finals of the tournament in Qatar. He currently plays his club football at Angers, who are currently bottom of Ligue 1. Angers’ president Saïd Chabane has previously stated that he is powerless to retain Ounahi, who is attracting interest across Europe.
According to L’Équipe, Leicester City are one of the most interested suitors and have reportedly made a €20m offer. Napoli have now also submitted their first bid, as Di Marzio reports. However, Angers are likely to ask for more than the €15m being offered by the Serie A side. The player’s desire for a deal is also an important factor. If Ounahi says yes to a move to Italy, the ultimate figure could be around the €15m currently being offered. Napoli would be willing to loan Ounahi back to Angers in order to help the club fight for survival in France’s top division.
