He made two appearances off the bench last term, and featured a fair amount during pre-season, though guaranteed game time will be hard to come by as Solskjaer will struggle to trust the kids as he battles to guide United back into the top four.
And Gomes is believed to be considering his future at Old Trafford with his current contract expiring at the end of the season.
According to the Manchester Evening News, United are in talks with the 19-year-old’s representatives, though an agreement is not close to being reached.
