TEMECULA, CA — A fundraiser was launched this week to support the family of a Temecula father killed over the Fourth of July weekend in a motorcycle crash on state Route 76 in San Diego County.
Jorge Villa, 33, of Temecula tried to pass a pickup truck around 6:30 p.m. Sunday on westbound SR-76 in Pauma Valley, according to the California Highway Patrol and San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Villa’s motorcycle hit the driver’s side of the truck, authorities said. Villa lost control and struck a tree. He died at the scene of the crash.

A GoFundMe page set up to raise funds to support his family described Villa as a “kind and generous soul” who “loved and lived life to the fullest.”
“Anyone that knew (Villa) knew that he loved anything on wheels, whether it was a pedal bike, his race car, his rock crawler or his motorcycle,” the page said. “He was always down for an adventure, no hesitation.”
Villa was married to his high school sweetheart, Coco. They shared a daughter, Lorena.
As of Thursday morning, the fundraiser had raised nearly $12,000 to support Villa’s wife and daughter “as they will have to navigate the world without the man that they loved the most,” according to the page.
“Even though his light has been dimmed it will continue to shine bright through all of us,” the page said. “His legacy and love will live on within all those that knew and loved him.”
