Kylian Mbappé predicted France-Morocco World Cup clash back in January

In a video aired on beIN Sports, Kylian Mbappé (23), in the presence of Paris Saint-Germain teammate Achraf Hakimi (24) predicted that France would face Morocco in the World Cup, and joked that he would have to “destroy” his friend.

France will play Morocco in the World Cup semi-final on Wednesday evening. Les Bleus have beaten Poland and England in the knockout rounds to get to this stage. Morocco, meanwhile, have been the surprise of the tournament, registering back-to-back shock victories against Spain and Portugal.

Mbappé, currently the top scorer in the World Cup with five goals in five games, will start for France in Wednesday’s semi-final and will be up against club teammate Hakimi. A video of Mbappé, in the Education City stadium in Qatar back in January 2022, has now resurfaced, where he correctly predicts that France will face Morocco.

“We are here in the Education City Stadium. 40,000 people can fit in here for France against Tunisia. I hope we’re going to win. After that, we’ll play against Morocco and I’ll have to destroy my friend (Hakimi),” said Mbappé, to which Hakimi replied, “I’m going to kick him.”

Mbappé then added, “That will break my heart a little bit but, you know, that’s football. It is what it is. I have to kill him.”
