Hugo Lloris injury latest: Tottenham confirm goalkeeper has undergone surgery on dislocated elbow

The World Cup-winner sustained the injury when he fell awkwardly after failing to collect a cross during Spurs’ 3-0 defeat at Brighton in October.

He was administered oxygen on the pitch and stretchered off to be replaced by Paulo Gazzaniga, who has deputised in goal during Lloris’ absence.

While it was initially believed the France international would not need to go under the knife, Spurs have since released a statement saying Lloris has had surgery.

“Following further clinical testing and examination, Hugo Lloris has now undergone surgery on his left elbow,” the statement read.

“The France goalkeeper dislocated his elbow ans sustained ligament damage during our Premier League match against Brighton & Hove Albion last month.

“Surgery was advised after further reviews by specialists found the elbow remained unstable.
