LEINSTER FORWARDS COACH Leo Cullen this afternoon opted against pouring cold water on the link between his side and Connacht’s international star, Robbie Henshaw.
Today, the Evening Herald’s Des Berry reported that the eastern province would be reopening their interest in the young centre, with Connacht’s Champions Cup qualification said to be an important point in Henshaw’s decision.
Asked about the mooted link to the five-cap international this afternoon, Cullen was non-committal yet positive:
“Obviously Robbie is one of the outstanding young players out there at the moment. Starting for Ireland at 21 in the centre is quite an achievement,” said the former captain.
“I don’t know him personally, but the lads all speak pretty highly of him. So, listen, he’d be a great player for Leinster to be interested in. Whether it happens or not, I don’t know.”
