Diego Maradona given incredible reception as he is unveiled as Gimnasia manager and leads crowds in anti-English chants

Maradona has taken charge of Gimnasia, who are bottom of the Primera Division after a poor start to the season.

The Argentina legend was presented to the crowd as he arrived for his first training session and got an incredible reception.

He entered the pitch through a wolf’s head as the club are nicknamed El Lobo, which means ‘The Wolf’.

The 58-year-old was then carted around on a golf buggy to the middle of the pitch.

It seemed like he was overcome with emotion as he held a football in the centre circle.

Maradona then led a number of chants to the supporters, including one with the words ‘the one who does not jump is an Englishman’.
