The Brazilian, 30, has agreed fresh terms to keep him at the club despite interest from Barcelona.
Chelsea’s top brass went back on their policy of only handing out one-year deals to players over the age of 30 when David Luiz committed his future to the club.
The Sun has claimed Luiz’s club and international team-mate Willian will now follow suit, extending his stay at west London into a seventh year.
The Blues were at risk of losing Willian for nothing next year but saw him as an important deal to sort considering their FIFA transfer ban.
This comes after star player Eden Hazard completed his move to Real Madrid in a deal that could rise up to £150million.
Hazard was unveiled in front of the Los Blancos faithful on Thursday, saying it was a ‘childhood dream’ to join the club.
Meanwhile, manager Maurizio Sarri is heading for an exit as his move to Juventus gets closer and closer.
