How it happened
The boys – including two of her classmates – abducted the girl, who then took her to an isolated spot in the hilly area and raped her, taking turns.
According to the girl’s complaint, one of the boys repeatedly covered her mouth to ensure she didn’t scream.
The complaint further stated that the headmaster noticed her while the boys were raping her. The boys, all minor, fled from the spot upon seeing him.
Upon spotting the headmaster of the government-run primary school, the girl hoped he would save her. But to her shock, he raped her too.
The headmaster then dropped off the girl at her home, telling her parents that four boys had raped their daughter and that he had saved her.
However, the girl narrated the incident in its entirety to her parents. Following this, she was taken to Sadar hospital for her treatment.
Headmaster arrested by cops
Police have identified the headmaster as Surendra Kumar Bhaskara, a 55-year-old man. The cops arrested him along with one of the accused boys, and a case under the POSCO Act was registered against them.
“The headmaster was arrested on Saturday and sent to jail, while the juvenile was apprehended on Monday sent to a remand home. Medical tests of the rape survivor and the accused have been done,” Sunil Kumar Singh, SDPO of Bhabhua, told TOI.
He also said that a search is on to arrest the other accused.
