Bengaluru Police have booked a youth under charges of attempt to murder after he dragged an elderly man on the road for a long distance after hitting him with his two-wheeler.
The incident happened on Magadi road on Tuesday.
Two-wheeler hit the car from behind
According to reports, it all began with the biker, identified as Sahil, a resident of Nayandahalli in Bengaluru, ramming his two-wheeler into a car from behind.
And when Sahil attempted to flee, the car driver, Muttappa, a native of the Bijapur district, tried to stop him.
The youth, however, did not slow down and sped away with the 71-year-old clinging behind his two-wheeler.
Dragged on the road for trying to stop him
In a video that has since gone viral, Sahil, a 25-year-old salesperson by profession, can be seen driving zig-zag on the road while Muttappa was being dragged behind.

It is unclear for how long Sahil dragged Muttappa on the road.
Sahil finally stopped after several other vehicles, including an auto, a car and some two-wheeler drivers, blocked his way.
In the video, shot by a witness, Sahil can be seen trying to argue with the men who stopped him and suggesting that Muttappa was at fault.
Sahil was later handed over to the police.
“The 25-year-old man who was seen dragging an elderly man behind his scooter has been identified as Sahil, a resident of Nayandahalli. He has been brought to the Govindarajanagar police station, and a case has been registered against him,” a police official said.
Would have left him go if he apologised
Muttappa suffered injuries on his body after being dragged on the road and is undergoing treatment at a hospital.
“He was arrogant, did not stop after hitting my Bolero from behind and tried to flee away. So I did not want to leave him. He tried best to escape and wanted me to leave his scooter, he rode the vehicle like a snake. Couple of youngsters followed and tried to attack and stop him. Finally a couple of auto drivers and bikers managed to stop him and caught hold of him,” Muthappa said.
“The public called the ambulance and I have been given treatment. Many people had gathered there, they even beat him. If he had said sorry after hitting my vehicle, I would have let him go,” he added.
Muttappa has some injuries on the lower part of his body.
“My shoes and new set of pants that I had worn protected me to a large extent, they both are torn now,” he said.
