Author Emily Cheney Neville Is Manchester's Next Sculpture Subject

MANCHESTER, CT — A fundraising event is on tap for later this month to benefit the Manchester Sculpture Project’s latest depiction — famed author Emily Cheney Neville.

A designer bag bingo event is scheduled for April 18. Kate Spade, Coach, Michael Kors and Dooney & Bourke are just a few of the bags being showcased.

Cheney Hall, 177 Hartford Road, Manchester will be the site of the event, which will feature 15 games, a silent auction and door prizes. The cost is $35 per person and players can bring their own drinks and snacks. Games begin at 7, but doors open at 6 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased through the Cheney Hall box office, 860-647-9824 or on ine at cheneyhall.org/designerbagbingo2024. Tickets may be sold at the door if available.

Award-winning Manchester author Emily Cheney Neville will be honored with a full-size bronze statue in the coming years. Until then, fundraisers like bingo will be scheduled in the next few years.

Neville’s statue will be the third in the series of legacy statues of Manchester citizens. The first two are Olympic runner Joe McCluskey on Highland Street, and Elisabeth Bennet in front of Bennet Academy on Main Street in Manchester.
