The 17-year-old will be handed his maiden start at the Aviva Stadium, in a side which will will also include Shamrock Rovers midfielder Jack Byrne and Celtic full-back Lee O’Connor.
McCarthy said: “Lee O’Connor will play, the younger lads will play. Troy Parrott will start, Jack Byrne will start.”
It is Parrott, who has scored three times and picked up a red card in three appearances for Ireland’s Under-21s in their European Championship qualifying campaign, who is causing a buzz in the build-up to the game.
McCarthy said: “He’s a bright, very intelligent footballer that’s very good with the ball at his feet.
