Despite Spurs currently struggling through a remarkably poor run of form, Pochettino is not to blame according to Jason Cundy, the former Chelsea and Tottenham defender – and famous Blues fan!
Cundy launched an impassioned defence of Pochettino shortly after Spurs embarrassingly lost to Colchester in the Carabao Cup, suffering a shootout defeat with Christian Eriksen and Lucas Moura missing their penalties.
While the match is officially recorded as a draw given it ended 0-0 after regulation time, this does nothing to take away from Tottenham’s horrific recent run of just four wins in their past 17 games.
Pochettino has been coming under increased pressure throughout the north Londoners’ shaky start to the season, and, unsurprisingly, ‘#PochOut’ was trending on social media in the wake of the Colchester loss.
Calls for the Argentine to lose his job are starting to become more and more audible with every passing match, but Cundy says this is nothing but a knee-jerk reaction during a frustrating time for Spurs fans.
