Barcelona could reportedly be about to sell forward Ousmane Dembele in order to fund a transfer swoop for England and Tottenham attacker Harry Kane.
According to Diario Gol, the Blaugrana are in pursuit of the 25-year-old, with it also being noted that the club are going to have to pay €200M if they want to bring the player to the Nou Camp, as this is the price tag that the forward has on his head.
The report also states that €200M is a price that Barca aren’t too keen on paying, and that the club have been tipped to potentially sell Dembele in order to fund a swoop for the England international.
Barca are in dire need of a new first-choice striker given the decline of Luis Suarez in recent years, and Kane could very well be the man to replace the Uruguayan if this report is anything to go off.
Suarez has looked a shadow of his former self so far this term despite scoring 11 and assisting four in all competitions, and it looks like the player’s time at the Nou Camp may finally come to an end in the not-too-distant future given the fact that he turns 32 next month.
Barca could very well sell Dembele in order to afford a deal for Harry Kane
Dembele has been in superb form for Barca so far this year, and getting rid of him for Kane may not be a smart move for the club to make despite their need for a new ‘number 9’.
The Frenchman is just 21 years old and has a very promising career ahead of him if his form in recent seasons is anything to go by.
And ditching the winger in order to buy Kane may prove to be a mistake in the coming years should the French international fulfil his potential in the coming seasons.
