The Reds continued their 100 per cent start to the new Premier League season with a 2-1 win over Southampton on Saturday.
Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino got the goals at the St Mary’s Stadium as they took an early lead at the top of the table.
The points on the south coast took Klopp to 300 points as Liverpool manager since he took charge in 2015.
It took him just 146 games to achieve this feat and in doing so beat a number of great managers to that landmark.
Number of games to reach 300 league points
Jürgen Klopp – 146 (17/8/19)
Kenny Dalglish (first spell) – 150 (14/3/89)
Rafael Benitez – 159 (5/10/08)
Bob Paisley – 161 (8/4/78)
Bill Shankly – 166 (30/11/63)
Gerard Houllier – 169 (8/3/03)
Tom Watson – 197 (6/9/02)
Matt McQueen – 205 (2/1/28)
George Kay – 212 (25/8/48)
George Patterson – 220 (27/12/32)
It took Kenny Dalglish, in his first spell, 150 games to reach that milestone while Rafael Benitez took nine games longer.
Their great managers Bob Paisley and Bill Shankly took 161 and 166 games, respectively. Meanwhile, Gerard Houllier reached the mark after 169 games.
All the statistics were compiled by club statistician Ged Rea and are based on three points being awarded for a win.
