Speaking to RMC, AS Monaco striker Wissam Ben Yedder explained his thinking behind his move from Sevilla this summer.
“Today, people will be able to watch me more. Someone who is coming to France, who already knows Ligue 1 a little bit, that’s nice for me. I am very happy because there are only positives here. I am really happy to be back in Ligue 1. It is a new challenge with new aims. I am going to try to continue to do what I know how to do.”
On his position in the French national team:
I am trying to integrate myself, do my job and show my worth. I try, each day, to adapt to what’s around me. I have had some difficult moments with managers where I wasn’t considered their first choice as either a main or second striker. I know how to adapt, I always believe in myself. I know that one day or another, I can take my place as the #1. You need to have ambition and I have always had that. I will continue to always do more. I like to throw myself into challenges and improve myself. I am still in this frame of mind. I am not going to change because who I am is what has got me to where I am today.
