VERNON, CT — A man pulled from Bolton Lake on Wednesday afternoon has died and emergency responders are still searching for a second person, NBC Connecticut reported.
A heavy police presence was at Lower Bolton Lake Wednesday afternoon as emergency responders searched for two people who fell from a watercraft.
Initial calls came in at 3:17 p.m., police said. Authorities said two people fell into the water from a canoe.

A staging area had been set up near Lynwood Drive and the search extended to a spot near the Bolton line, police said.
Vernon officers pulled one person out of the water and that person was taken to Manchester Memorial Hospital, authorities said. NBC CT reported that person has died.

Police dive teams and drone units were at the scene along with several rescue boats in efforts to locate the second person, police said.
