PITTSBURGH, PA — With Valentine’s Day rapidly approaching, many people undoubtedly are searching for a special restaurant to spend time with their special someone.
Restaurant choices involve personal preferences, of course, but here are a few suggestions from Patch as to where you might want to go:
The Commoner, Downtown

The Commoner will have a special Valentine’s Day entrée for two available on Feb. 14 and Feb. 17. The menu will feature a variety of indulgences such as roasted filet mignon and grilled lobster tail with foie gras-black truffle jus, crispy beef fat potatoes and Coldco Farm’s spinach.
Toast to love and friendship with The Commoner’s Bubbles Menu as well as hand-crafted cocktails like the Tie Twine to Three Tree Twigs with buttered Botanist, Blackberry & Rosemary Genepy, luxardo, and sage sugar; and the The Bee, Of Course, Flies Anyways with Bombay Sapphire, yellow Chartreuse, chamomile, orange blossom, and honey caviar.

Galentine’s Day: Fashion Show & Brunch, Downtown
The Kimpton Hotel Monaco is teaming up with Women Who Rock, Fresh Nostalgia,306 Forbes to debut their first Galentine’s Day Fashion Show and Brunch full of Valentine’s Day outfit inspirations on Feb. 11 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Lunch buffer options will include fresh pastries, house-smoked salmon and bagels and quiche lorraine with bacon, leeks and gruvere.
The PA Market, Strip District
The Strip District’s two-story European-style market will be celebrating Galentine’s on Feb. 10 from 12 p.m.-3 p.m. Event-goers can expect local vendors like Jennie G Jewelry, Seven13 Boutique, and Poppin’ Daisies Flower Truck.
The market also will offer a “lover’s menu” from Feb. 14 through Feb. 18, featuring items such as cream cannoli dip, lava cake and an assorted pie board.
Kahlil’s, Shadyside
Sister-owners Dalel and Leila Khalil are celebrating Valentine’s Day, Syrian-style, with the “Eid el Houb” (Valentine’s Day) Dinner. In addition to its regular menu, the family-owned and operated restaurant is carrying on the tradition of offering a special five-course meal for Valentine’s Day.
The five-course dinner for two will include a Mediterranean charcuterie board; traditional house-made hummus; Khalil’s signature salad; Khalil’s signature buttered rice with orzo and topped with toasted pignolia nuts and almonds; the mixed grill including succulent shrimp in a lemon garlic sauce, marinated chicken; and grilled lamb chops with Mediterranean seasoning.
Square Cafe, East Liberty
Valentine’s specials will be offered Feb. 14-18 and feature the cafe’s famous Valentine’s red velvet pancakes, a once-a-year treat that tops the pancakes with powdered sugar and house-made cream cheese icing. The cafe also will offer a short rib scramble with a side of mixed greens.
Station, Bloomfield
Station is celebrating Valentine’s Day with a special prix-fixe menu, in addition to their regular dinner menu. Features include shrimp and crab bisque with petite crab cake, lamb shank with pomegranate molasses and pistachio gnocchi.
Ritual House, Downtown.
Specials will be announced via media alert and social media closer to the Valentine’s date. Regular menu items such as steak and seafood also will be available, with diners able to customize their preparation styles, sauces and side dishes.
