Popular North Branford Restaurant Under New Ownership, Will Stay Open

NORTH BRANFORD, CT — Supreme Seafood Restaurant in North Branford, which has been around for nearly 35 years, has been sold to new owners who plan to keep it going.

Robert Marcarelli, who along with his partners purchased the restaurant, said he wanted to dispel inaccurate rumors about the restaurant closing.

“Many people think the business is closing permanently,” he said. “We are keeping the business name, staff, and recipes all the same.”

The new owners bought the restaurant Nov. 28. The three new owners are all industry veterans “who were looking to start a restaurant group while utilizing all the knowledge they had gained in the combined 70+ years of their restaurant and hospitality careers,” according to the restaurant’s website.

“It’s an established business known for using quality ingredients and has an outstanding reputation in the area for great service,” Marcarelli said. “These two attributes were very important to us. We wanted to continue the legacy that Ralph (Amendola) and Vinny (Caprio) started.”

One thing he said they plan to keep the same is the restaurant’s holiday menu.

“We are continuing the ‘famous’ seafood offerings for Christmas Eve with a couple of additions,” Marcarelli said. “Customers can call and order or place their order on our website. The menu ranges from fried seafood to crab sauce.”

The restaurant, located at 999 Foxon Road, offers plenty of seafood dishes from shrimp cocktails to lobster bisque, hot lobster rolls, and more.

Supreme Seafood also offers party platters, off-site catering, and private party menus.

On Trip Advisor, the restaurant has 76 reviews with a 4.5-star average. It also scores a 4.6-star average on 158 Facebook reviews.
