Unadkat struck in his third, fourth and fifth deliveries.
In the Ranji Trophy’s 88-year-old history, he is the first to do so in the 1st over.
Unadkat removed Dhruv Shorey, Vaibhav Rawal and Yash Dhull.
All fell for ducks.
Unadkat ended up with career-best figures of 8/39 from 12 overs.
Earlier, Unadkat played only his 2nd Test for India and 1st after 12 years when he was picked vs Bangladesh.
The 31-year-old’s first spell was lethal as Delhi lost half their side while still in single figures.
Saurashtra were all over Delhi and ended the opening day in a commanding position with a lead of over fifty runs and 9 of their wickets intact.
