Initially set to join outgoing sporting director Florent Ghisolfi at OGC Nice, Grégory Thil now looks set to remain at RC Lens and become the new sporting director, according to L’Équipe.
It had been announced by Nice that Thil would be making the move with Ghisolfi to the Allianz Riviera. He was set to become the head of recruitment at Lea Aiglons, but in a turn of events, he now looks set to stay up north and replace Ghisolfi, rather than follow him.
According to L’Équipe, Thil has already accepted the promotion at Lens and he is set to be officially announced soon. Ghisolfi’s move to Nice, although officialised, was not complete. He was set to remain with Lens a little longer before making the move to the Riviera. Given that Lens have now found their replacement, Ghisolfi’s move could now be expedited.

Ghisolfi replaces Julien Fournier at Nice. The latter left the club suddenly in July, leaving them without a sporting director for the summer transfer window.
