This victory comes as a bit of a shock, given that The Briscoes have been heavily advertised for a major Champions vs. Champions match against IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa, the Guerrillas of Destiny, at next month’s G1 Supercard event at Madison Square Garden. King and PCO will now replace The Briscoes in that match.
You can catch the replay of Friday night’s show on FITE TV as well as Ring of Honor’s online streaming service, Honor Club. A word of warning for those who have a hard time dealing with blood and gore in their wrestling matches — this tag team title bout was a brutal and violent affair, leaving everyone involved a broken mess. Proceed at your own risk.
Interestedly enough, this was 51-year-old PCO’s first major world tag team championship win in almost exactly 25 years, since winning his third WWF World Tag Team Championship in March 1994 with Jacques Rougeau as one half of The Quebecers.
