The 8 Best Greenery Choices
for Your Wedding

Greenery is like the foundation to your arrangements. Greening your arrangements first, before adding your more expensive blooms, helps your product to stretch further. It provides great coverage and helps to hide any mechanics you’re using.

From bouquets to corsages, ceremony flowers to pergolas, centerpieces to garland, these are our picks for the 8 best greenery choices for your DIY wedding!

1. Italian Ruscus

One of my all-time favorite greens! Italian ruscus is beautiful for it’s graceful length and delicate leaves but it’s hardy AF. I like to call it the workhorse of the greenery options. Can be used in any capacity: bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages legit anything.

2. Israeli Ruscus

Italian ruscus’ cousin! Also hardy! Also great! Slightly shorter in stem length with fewer – but broader – leaves, Israeli ruscus will hold its green color for a lonnngggg time. It’s a great option for use in bouquets, arrangements, bud vases, anything.

3. Salal (Lemon Leaf)

Salal is super hardy and has a broad leaf that helps to hide your mechanics! Use it to help cover your oasis and tape in centerpieces and larger arrangements!

4. Silver Dollar Eucalytpus

Silver dollar eucalyptus can be used for anything and is easy to split into sprigs and lay down on tables for a runner. Its beautiful silvery leaves are lovely for texture and color.

5. Baby Eucalyptus

Baby eucalyptus is sturdy and adds a lovely texture to any bouquet or arrangements. Most foliages are drapey but Baby euc has a stiffness that allows for dimension. It does have a heavy sap that can come off on hands – use gloves when handling. The tips can sometimes be a little wilty but those can get snipped off.

6. Huck

Huck has lovely dark green foliage. Main stem has many branches on it which can be cut into sprigs or use the whole branch for larger arrangements like ceremony urns or arch arrangements. Creates a kinda forest-y organic vibe! Can shed but it’s worth it.

Sword fern is here mainly because I love sword fern. It can be used in tropical arrangements, english garden style, anything. Its bright green color is a perfect foil to anything else and the texture that it gives to bouquets and arrangements is so beautiful! The tip can sometimes be a little wilted but that can easily get snipped off.
