L’Équipe report that Marseille’s negotiations with SL Benfica for 29-year-old striker Konstantinos Mitroglou have come to an end, after having two offers rejected for the player.
An initial bid worth €14m was turned down, and an only slightly improved offer received the same response, with Benfica looking for a deal worth €20m, which is a revised valuation down from €25m already.

The Greek international had already reached a salary agreement with Marseille and the Ligue 1 club had already prepared a private jet to fly Mitroglou to France, but talks have come to an abrupt end, the online edition of the newspaper reports.
Marseille are now expected to look at other targets.
