Speaking in an interview with SFR Sport, Arsenal’s new striker Alexandre Lacazette discussed the influence of Thierry Henry on his career.
“He is one of the best ever French goal-scorers, who was for a long period of time unjustly criticised, perhaps he never received adequate recognition for everything that he has achieved in his career. He was a player I liked a lot, he knew how to score, to dribble with his left and right foot, with his head. When he was criticised about certain things, he responded by scoring with his left foot if people were saying he was not scoring enough with his left foot. For me he was a super attacker. He was my model striker growing up. Sure there were others I would look at, but he was my idol. We speak a lot. He gives me advice. If I have questions I know I can ask him.”
