Rennes loanee forward M’Baye Niang is the subject of formal negotiations from German side Schalke 04, who are in talks with Torino about a permanent deal for the 24-year-old, according to L’Équipe.
Even if Schalke reach a deal with their Italian counterparts, they will still have to convince the Senegalese international and crucially Rennes to bring to an end the season-long loan deal early.
