L’Équipe report this morning that they expect the future of 20-year-old central midfielder Boubakary Soumaré to be the main item on Lille’s agenda during next month’s January transfer window.
Valencia and Real Madrid are in contention, with the latter having positioned themselves directly at the behest of President Florentino Perez, according to the newspaper. Napoli have also made contact with the player’s entourage in a bid to charm him into joining their outfit.
But England is viewed as Soumaré’s likely preferred destination, with two sides currently in serious contention. The first is Manchester United, who the player likes the idea of joining, especially should Paul Pogba depart. The second is Tottenham Hotspur, who are very much waiting on him for a decision. Any deal is expected to cost clubs €50m to €60m including bonuses.
