CHIRIACO SUMMIT, CA — Interstate 10 near Chiriaco Summit is closed Thursday morning due to an overturned semi.
A SigAlert was issued at Dillon Road — for both directions of the freeway — at approximately 7:30 a.m.
California Highway Patrol Officer David Torres said the truck-tractor combination overturned onto its side and is blocking all eastbound lanes.

No injuries were reported.
As of 8:48 a.m., one lane of traffic was open on the westbound side of the freeway.

Torres said officials do not have an estimated time for the freeway’s reopening. All traffic was being diverted onto southbound state Route 86.
It’s not clear what caused the rig to overturn. A wind advisory is in effect across the desert through noon Thursday. Wind gusts in the area were forecast to reach 45 mph, according to the National Weather Service.
The CHP is investigating the crash cause.
