WOODBRIDGE, NJ — A pair of brothers from Miami were indicted this week with selling cocaine throughout New Jersey.
And the brothers were arrested after police first stopped their car in Woodbridge last January:
On Jan. 26, 2023, police stopped a car in Woodbridge, with three individuals inside, including Nelson Santos Munoz, 30, and his brother, Amauris Santos Munoz, 31, both of Miami, Florida. During a search of the vehicle, Woodbridge Police discovered approximately 49 kilograms of suspected cocaine, individually wrapped in packages with cellphone/plastic wrap in several suitcases and a backpack.

A review of cell phone communications revealed the Santos brothers traveled to the Dominican Republic and conspired to purchase cocaine and transport it to the United States for distribution, said U.S. Attorneys.
The Santos brothers imported the cocaine in through Miami, and then traveled to New Jersey to distribute the cocaine, said federal prosecutors.

U.S. Attorney Philip Sellinger unsealed this federal indictment against the brothers Wednesday.
Both are charged with one count of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute cocaine and one count of possession with intent to distribute cocaine. The brothers appeared Tuesday before U.S. District Judge Zahid N. Quraishi in Trenton federal court.
The U.S. Attorney thanked both Woodbridge Police and the DEA.
