NEW YORK CITY — A straphanger died after they were struck by a subway train in Union Square station, police said.
The fatal collision Monday morning snarled subway service during the rush hour, as four lines — the N, Q, R and W — were partly suspended to allow NYPD officers to investigate it, according to an MTA post.
Details on the death were scant shortly afterward.

Police said a man was struck by a Q train headed south about 8:30 a.m. Medics pronounced him dead at the scene, NYPD officials said.
