2 Percent More Democratic Voters In Chesco Than Republicans: State

CHESTER COUNTY, PA —There is a 2 percent difference in the number of Republicans and Democrats registered to vote in Chester County.

Election day is Tuesday, and voters will be casting their ballots for judges, county commissioners, row offices, school boards, and municipal officials.

Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at polls throughout the 759-square-mile county. A total of 1,200 poll workers will be stationed at the polling places in Chester County.

Here is the breakdown of the Chester County voters’ party registrations, according to the Pennsylvania Department of State:

Chester County Voter Services mailed out 53,000 voter ballots and already received 31,000, Chester County Director of Voter Services Karen Barsoum said during an election board meeting.

The election board consists of Judges Bret Binder and Analisa Sonderguard and Commissioner Michele Kichline.

Residents ask for voter transparency

During a recent election board meeting, Gail Newman, a resident who ran for state legislature last year, said she would like to see an auditor review the election results before they are finalized.

Sandy Bernman of London Grove Township, said she was concerned that all of the ballots in the drop boxes are not counted.

Amanda Prince, East Brandywine, said she heard of residents voting in precincts where they did not live. She expressed concern about voters being able to vote in more than one place by going on the names of former residents who are still on the voting rolls and have moved.

She provided a list of people who are still on the voting list and have since moved.

Bruce Lane, East Fallowfield Township, said the background of the residents should be checked before they are allowed to vote.
