MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — The new “neighborhood hospital” opening in Montgomery County is on track for a fall 2024 opening, officials said.
The latest Lehigh Valley Health Network facility, located in Gilbertsville, is already under construction. The facility will include an emergency room, inpatient care, and a medical office building.
“LVH–Gilbertsville and the Health Center at Gilbertsville will give residents more convenient access to emergency and hospital-level care, along with robust ambulatory services located closer to where they live, work and play,” Brian A. Nester, the president and chief executive officer of Lehigh Valley Health Network, said in a statement. “Easy access can improve patient engagement and help individuals live their healthiest life.”

The 22,000 square foot facility will be located on the intersection of Route 100 and Grosser Road, near a Wawa and a gas station.
Officials call the facility a “neighborhood hospital,” as it will focus on its full service emergency room. The inpatient beds will be limited, and its overall size is smaller than Lehigh Valley Health Network’s other area hospitals in Cedar Crest and Muhlenberg.
