TCHS Promotes Former Stillman Pitcher To Be Next Softball Coach

NORTHPORT, AL — Tuscaloosa County High School announced this week that Wildcats baseball assistant Connor Acton has been promoted and will change sports to become the next head softball coach at the school.

A standout baseball player in high school, Acton went on to play at Lawson State Community College before finishing out his college career as a pitcher at Stillman College.

A native of Trussville, Acton is entering his fourth year at TCHS and also served as an assistant basketball coach for the Wildcats for a season.

“What an opportunity! I’m honored to get the chance to lead these girls on and off the field,” Acton told Patch. “It’s an exciting time to be a Wildcat and I’m ready to get to work.”

Acton and his wife, Hannah, have a three-year-old daughter, Tatum.

A Meet and Greet event for the TCHS community will be held to welcome Acton into his new role on Thursday, June 15 at 6 p.m. in TCHS cafeteria.
