Rumble Boxing Opens First CT Location In South Norwalk

NORWALK, CT — Rumble Boxing, a boxing-inspired high intensity group fitness studio, opened its first Connecticut location last week in South Norwalk.

Dan Peterson, general manager of the Norwalk studio, said the new location held its grand opening June 1. Located on Hanford Place, Rumble Boxing SoNo is owned by holding company Blue Cove Enterprises LLC.

“This is the first Rumble Boxing location in Connecticut,” Peterson said in an email to Patch. “Aside from SoNo’s growing population in the ideal demographic for Rumble Boxing, Norwalk is in a privileged geographic location between Westport and Darien, where fitness enthusiasts are excited about the dynamic nature of the Rumble workout.”

According to Peterson, BCE already plans to open two more Connecticut locations in Stamford and Greenwich in the coming months.

While the studio is boxing-focused, Peterson noted Rumble is not a traditional boxing gym. There is no ring, no sparring and guests will never get hit with a punch.

“Rumble is high intensity group fitness that leverages the full body nature of boxing training to offer a highly efficient workout for people of all ages and all levels of fitness,” Peterson said. “What sets Rumble SoNo apart is its spacious new studio with state-of-the-art audio visual equipment, delivering a 45-minute, 10-round strength and conditioning group fitness experience crafted around teardrop-shaped aqua bags, strength training circuits and custom music playlists.”

Rumble offers group fitness classes throughout the day, seven days a week. A schedule can be found on the studio’s website or on the Rumble app.

In addition to 45-minutes classes, the studio we will begin offering personal training involving one-on-one workouts with instructors in the near future, Peterson said.

“Rumble Boxing offers its members a combination of health benefits like increased stamina and strength, paired with a cardio workout that’s actually fun,” Peterson said. “It is an explosive, high-energy boxing and strength workout designed for all levels. You get out of the workout exactly what you put into the workout. All the way through, you control the intensity.”

According to Peterson, half of the class is spent exploring the skills and drills of boxing while the other half is spent on the transformative power of resistance training.

“The seasoned instructors are thrilled to serve their local community and offer this engaging, modern approach to interval training while welcoming all fitness levels to the Rumble family,” Peterson said.

Rumble is also open to members at any level of skill when it comes to boxing or similar types of fitness.

“Rumble prides itself on its inclusion,” Peterson said. “In other words, being open to everyone. Before every class, our instructors take everyone through the six basic punches that will be used during the boxing segment of the workout. Over time, everyone gains more confidence in their punches and feels the benefits of improved fitness.”

In addition to providing members with a fantastic workout, Rumble’s new SoNo location strives to create an environment where everyone can have a good time, Peterson said.

“We are building a diverse community of people who love the high energy music, supportive vibe of our instructors and the feeling of accomplishment when you get to the end of a 10-round battle,” Peterson said.
