MIDDLETOWN, NJ — Earlier this week, we broke the story that a developer owns the land behind Memorial-Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and seeks to build 500 apartments on it.
Middletown Township is aggressively fighting the proposal, and is even threatening to use eminent domain to buy the land from the developer.
Now today, you can read the ordinance that was introduced by the Middletown Township Committee this past Monday night to fight the proposal: https://mccmeetingspublic.blob…

The ordinance gives Middletown Twp. government the ability to either buy the land from the developer, or seize it via eminent domain.
The Township Committee has not yet voted on the ordinance. There will be a public hearing on the ordinance at the upcoming June 5 Township Committee meeting, and the public can voice their opinions.
