Madhya Pradesh Shocker! Girl Student Paraded With Garland Of Shoes On Suspicion Of Theft

In a shocking incident, a Class V student was allegedly paraded with a garland of shoes by the superintendent of a hostel on suspicion of stealing money.

Last week, the incident at a government tribal girls’ hostel in Damjipura village came to light on Tuesday after the girl’s family filed a complaint with district Collector Amanveer Singh Bains.

Dressed up as ghost

According to the family, the girl, a Class V student, was staying at the hostel run by the tribal affairs department in Damjipura.

The girl’s father alleged that his daughter was made to apply makeup to look like a ghost and she was paraded on the hostel campus with a garland of shoes by the superintendent on the charge of stealing Rs 400 belonging to another girl.

He said his daughter was not ready to stay in the hostel after the incident.

Collector orders probe 

After hearing the complaint of the girl’s father, Bains said he has ordered an inquiry based on which action will be initiated.

Assistant Commissioner, Tribal Affairs Department, Shilpa Jain said following the complaint, the woman hostel superintendent has been removed from the post.

A probe has been ordered and further action will be taken on the basis of it, Jain said.

Students made to do 100 sit-ups

In July this year, the Human Rights Monitoring Committee took cognisance of another instance of corporal punishment in the state after five students were allegedly made to do 100 sit-ups as a part of the punishment.

The incident happened at the Government Secondary School, Girdauda village in Neemuch.

The father of one of the students had alleged that his daughter, a class VI student and four others were made to do 100 sit-ups by their teacher.

The shocking punishment had left his daughter being admitted to the district hospital as she is in a lot of pain and is unable to stand or walk, the father had alleged in his complaint.
