With the game on Tuesday ending in 1-1, Paris Saint-Germain shared the spoils with Benfica for the second time in the Champions League over the last few weeks.
Speaking to Canal+ after the draw, former Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos admitted they lacked determination but heaped praise on Benfica for being physically strong. He said:
“The only thing we lacked was determination. It’s the little details that make the difference. They are a team that is physically very strong, that worked well from a technical point of view. We didn’t manage to find spaces between the lines. But the most important thing is to continue, to be first in the group. We’ll think about the next match.”
PSG next face Maccabi Haifa in their Champions League outing this season, winning which will ensure their qualification for the knock-out stages of the competition. From four matches, the reigning Ligue 1 champions have amassed eight points with two draws and two wins thus far.
