VIDEO PACKAGE
WWE 205 Live kicks off with a video package highlighting the recent fallout between former tag team partners, Hideo Itami and Akira Tozawa who will go one on one later this evening.
DREW GULAK VS GRAN METALIK
Before their match is able to start, The Brian Kendrick and Jack Gallagher make their way to the ringside area as they join the commentary table for the match. Once the match officially starts, Drew Gulak takes quick control by trying to ground Metalik, but his highflying style begins to take over with a nice dropkick. Metalik then began hitting a massive chop and attempted to go high risk, but Gulak pushed Metalik so he sat awkwardly on the top turnbuckle and Gulak just dumped him to the outside of the ring.
Back in the ring Metalik managed to turn the tide of the match using his own style, bouncing off the ropes and then hitting a huge open-palmed slap which enraged Gulak who slid to the outside trying to take out Metalik, allowing the Lucha House Party member to bounce off the ropes to the outside to take out his opponent. Gulak’s aggression eventually allowed him to get some revenge for the slap as he hits a massive clothesline of his own, but his rashness then saw him miss another major move, but Metalik went to the opposite turnbuckle before running across the top ropes to hit a great dropkick in a very unique move. Metalik attempted to fly off the ropes once again and he was met by a kick to the face for his efforts as Drew Gulak locks in his submission finisher, forcing Metalik to tap out to pick up a win after an impressive back and forth match.
Winner: Drew Gulak
VIDEO PACKAGE
WWE then showed a video package of Buddy Murphy talking about how next week he will beat Cedric Alexander to become the next Cruiserweight Champion because you can’t stop the unstoppable as WWE showed highlights of the Best Kept Secret training and preparing for the title match.
TJP VS CHRISTOPHER GUY
Former Cruiserweight Champion, TJP was in action next and he quickly took down the local jobber that was put in front of him, standing up and dabbing to gloat about it. Perkins then takes out his opponent again with a vicious arm move that he simply smiles about. TJP strings one move after another with WWE showing Drake Maverick backstage watching the match, whilst in the ring, TJP locks in a submission only to stomp Guy into the matter before hitting the Detonation Kick to pick up a simple victory.
Winner: TJP
Following the match, TJP was asked about his comments on social media, and he states he was the best Cruiserweight Champion ever, saying he revived Cruiserweight wrestling. TJP stated if that is the sort of opponent Drake Maverick thinks he deserves, then that shows what management thinks of him.
