The law student who had accused formerBharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Union minister Chinmayanand of rape was arrested on Wednesday morning. On September 24, she was detained by the Uttar Pradesh police in a case of extortion that has been filed against her.
According to a PTI report, the special investigation team probing the case arrested her from her house at 9:15 am. She was then taken for a medical examination.
“At the request of the SIT the court has sent her to 14 days of judicial remand, she has been sent to the jail,” former union minister’s lawyer, Manendra Singh told ANI.
