According to The Guardian, the 52-year-old has set his sights on a managerial role in England and was in attendance of Bayern Munich’s 7-2 demolition of Tottenham on Tuesday evening.
It is understood Allegri wants to succeed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Old Trafford, with pressure increasing on the Norwegian boss following United’s worst ever start to a Premier League season.
Red Devils chiefs are not believed to on the hunt for Solskjaer’s replacement at the moment, but Allegri is one of the names in a two or three man shortlist that has been drawn up as potential candidates for the job.
The Italian left Juventus at the end of last season having steered the Old Lady to five consecutive titles in his time in Turin.
