And his early-season form was rewarded with a new long-term contract earlier this month.
Willock’s importance was underlined when Unai Emery opted to bring the academy graduate on ahead of the club’s highest earner Mesut Ozil with Arsenal losing to Aston Villa in a game they eventually won 3-2 on Sunday.
Meanwhile, he scored once in their 5-0 Carabao Cup win over Nottingham Forest.
