An ankle injury saw the midfielder withdraw from international duty for France’s Euro 2020 qualifiers against Albania and Andorra.

Pogba suffered the problem during United’s 1-1 draw at Southampton last weekend.

He was replaced in Didier Deschamps’ squad by Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi, who is yet to make his senior debut for his country but has impressed at club level.

French media outlet L’Equipe claim Pogba will be fit to face Leicester on September 14, saying his ‘downtime should not stretch beyond eight to ten days’.

It has been a difficult start to the season for the 27-year-old, as well as United, who have won just one of their opening four Premier League games.

Pogba was also subjected to racial abuse after missing a second-half penalty in United’s 1-1 draw with Wolves last month.

The former Juventus ace ended up staying at Old Trafford, despite heavy transfer interest from Real Madrid during the summer.
