Pochettino has seen Spurs spend in excess of £100million this summer by bringing Tanguy N’Dombele from Lyon, Giovani Lo Celso on loan from Real Betis and Ryan Sessegnon from Fulham, with Jack Clarke joining from Leeds and then re-joining the Championship side for the season.

The boss has previously said the FA Cup and Carabao Cup are not important, but now, with a new stadium and a strong-looking squad, he knows he needs to start filling the trophy cabinet, with the last notable success coming in 2008.
