The Juventus striker is set to seal a switch to the Merseyside club in a reported £37m deal, with the youngster set to undergo a medical and complete his move on Wednesday.
Juventus wanted a buy-back clause as part of the deal, but instead they will have the chance to match any offer Everton receive for the 19-year-old.
Now, The Daily Mail report Arsenal did attempt to hijack the deal in its closing stages by contacting both Juventus and the player’s agent, Mino Raiola.
Kean is said to have chosen Everton due to fears he would not be provided with regular game time at the north London club.
Marco Silva reportedly intends to make Kean a key figure in his plans for the forthcoming campaign, while at the Emirates, the 19-year-old would have to compete with Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for the no.9 spot.
