Fantasy Football: Ozil headlines this week's Goal Premier League Team of the Week

Our Fantasy writer looks back at the latest round of football in England and picks out the best performers from Manchester City, Arsenal, Everton, etc

The big clubs flexed their muscles in match week nine as all of the Premier League’s elite picked up results this week. Chelsea and Manchester United drew with each other while Liverpool and Manchester City continued their unbeaten start to the 2018-19 campaign. To pick up points in this league you need big performances from big players and, as such, stars from each of those clubs can be found below in our Goal Premier League Team of the Week.

GK: Jordan Pickford – Everton – 1 Game, 3 Saves (1 Penalty Save), 1 Clean Sheet = 13 Points

DEF: Michael Keane – Everton – 1 Game, 1 Assist, 1 Clean Sheet = 10 Points

Keane has certainly had his ups and downs since joining Everton, but we certainly saw the former on Sunday. Keane helped lead the defence to just their second clean sheet of the season while also picking up an assist on his only chance created. While the English defender put in an excellent shift at the weekend, he’s outside the top 20 at his position and should not be relied upon too heavily in Fantasy.

DEF: Antonio Rudiger – Chelsea – 1 Game, 1 Goal, 1 Assist, 2 Goals Conceded = 10 Points

DEF: Benjamin Mendy – Manchester City – 1 Game, 1 Assist, 1 Clean Sheet = 10 Points

MID: Mesut Ozil – Arsenal – 1 Game, 1 Goal, 1 Assist = 11 Points

Ozil put in his best performance of the season on Monday, notching a goal and assist to help secure Arsenal’s seventh consecutive Premier League win. Despite not having the best start to the season, he still leads the club in chances created and will likely only improve from here. The coming matches are certainly not easy but he’s certainly worth the gamble if you believe that Ozil is well and truly back.

MID: Bobby Reid – Cardiff – 1 Game, 1 Goal, 1 Assist = 11 Points

MID: Fernandinho – Manchester City – 1 Game, 1 Goal, 1 Assist = 11 Points

MID: Mo Salah – Liverpool – 1 Game, 1 Goal = 8 Points

He’s not come anywhere near his form from last season, yet is still posting fantastic underlying numbers. The Egyptian leads the league in both shots on target and touches in the box which certainly seems to imply that the goals will return sooner rather than later. Saturday’s goal was certainly evidence that Salah’s finishing can still be exquisite, the question is can he score enough to warrant his £8.3m price tag.

MID: Leroy Sane – Manchester City – 1 Game, 1 Goal = 8 Points

FOR: Anthony Martial – Manchester United – 1 Game, 2 Goals = 12 Points

After their draw against Chelsea, Martial came out and said that there was never tension between himself and manager Jose Mourinho. While there have certainly been reports to the contrary, it sure seems Martial has Mourinho’s back as the Frenchman may well have saved his boss’ job having recorded two goals and two assists over the past two weeks. Considering Martial has been involved in six goals in his last five matches against Everton, his hot form seems more likely to continue than not.

FOR: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – Arsenal – 1 Substitute Appearance, 2 Goals = 11 Points
